Bryon Dorr — our car editor and the editor-in-chief of our sister site AutoWise.com — took a small city mountain bike adventure in a Ford F-150. He let us know what he thinks of America's best-selling trucks.
I have to drive a 2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4×4 V8 Platinum FX4 in Portland, Oregon and its surrounding areas for a week. As you might expect, this truck made a deep impression.
At the end of my time using this full-size half-ton American pickup truck, I secretly participated in an urban mountain biking mission to the Gateway Green Bike Park. I filmed the adventure of this hidden Portland outdoor adventure gem and showed most of what this truck has to offer in the process.
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to take this 4×4 truck for an off-road adventure, but I bet that many buyers will never do it. In addition to its large size and long wheelbase, I also bet that this machine, especially the one with FX4 components and V8, is very capable on the sidewalk.

The complete truck name-2021 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4×4 V8 Platinum FX4-mouthful! It essentially means that this is a powerful four-door 5.5-foot 4×4 bed (with off-road adjustable shock absorbers, anti-skid plates, and locking rear differential), with premium luxury interiors.
I will add that it is a small step lower than the limited edition luxury interior.
